Inclusive Design

Inclusive designs are crucial for our benefit or future generations benefit. Upton and every place around the world could gain a lot from improvements of the existing designs. One issue that is very common in communities is parking. Although you will witness very wide roads and plenty of parking space around Upton, there are certain areas that are a lot more dense and hard to access for larger vehicles. Now imagine four families moving into the Upton community at the same time, each family has a medium size lorry coming in with their furniture and belongings. It will be incredibly hard for that type of vehicle to orientate around the site. More so with the emergency services, fire trucks tend to be pretty big and in case of fire timing is crucial and how truck like that will gain access to the location of fire whilst the road there is very narrow.
Issues to solve this would be underground car parks, they are very common right now but to turn this into a inclusive

design timing and budget would need to be considered. Whether it will take long time to pour all the concrete in place for the bays and whether the budget will allow it. I've visited Albufeira in Portugal last year and they had exactly that happening, gigantic car park underneath the main
area and access to the apartments was never and issue. Right underneath the road there is car park.
Another kind of inclusive design is having an off road car park where you leave your car and have electric buses that will take you from the car park to your house. This could see some disadvantages but the main thing is to be able to foresee these issues.
