While considering the technological opportunities we have today there is a common barrier with regards to finance, a lot of practices seek innovations and improvements for their design and those could be incorporated in the design compendium however budgets and time tend to prevent these experiments. Although limited to the options it's important to notice how much the industry developed, we now build and design according to ergonomics and anthropometrics, ensuring the house or development is usable and accessible. Instead of measuring things by arm width and height people not have so much data base to choose from so there should be no reason why developments should struggle with user group, access and over populating community. Technology also provides us with more efficient designs, software like revit is widely used in the industry and it provides the
users with variety of use full information, technical and presentational. We are lucky as the designs can improve with the input of technology, we can design in the same style and form as people from across the world, we can use their trusted data instead of constantly experimenting. Technology also speeds up the process of the design as we can see a rise of hundred of houses in a space of few years. This is important when considering the population growth and demand for housing. We now have programs that allow us to view very photorealistic renders of the design, we can produce all sort of enviromental data from the design, we can even predict the design weathering and reaction to weather in different times of the year for instance when its raining or windy and such. Being able to foresee these elements is crucial as you will find in my futher posts about weathering in Upton.
