Upton has been build using design codes to increase the standard of house holding a
nd to inspire other developers to explore and experiment with the local style of architecture instead of following traditional styles.
Design codes used in this project ensure that consistent standards are applied all throughout the development, including street patterns, design, energy use and so on.
This project is highly related to the subject of sustainability but focusing also on blurring the lines between environmental, social and economical matters. Program has developed a master plan which includes strategies to decrease resource consumption and waste, increase biodiversity, enhance efficiency of infrastructure, blend the residential areas with local job opportunities and to distinct the local area from other developments.
