We have an overview of how things are going to play out during second year of our studies, out design project will be based on RIBA's plan of work which links to our other modules. We have been told to survey buildings in local area, it's more of a group assignment as each one of us have been delegated a couple of buildings. Our design project site is the market square in Northampton, to be more specific is to do with the Waterloo buildings located behind a very old facade which must be kept. The Waterloo building is rather barbaric and not very appealing so our aim is to build a new structure that will include the following; library, cafe, residential area and whatever feature we want. It's going to be a challenge to come up with some concepts for the project but firstly we have to survey the place and learn from the history of local architecture.
